Aluminum Insulated Roof Over Systems are an answer to the problem of chronic roof maintenance that is required if your mobile home has the original arched or peaked galvanized roof. After installation of this System you will no longer have the regular roof coating and patching associated with your original galvanized roof. You and your home will also benefit from the added insulation and the roof panel overhang of 4 to 8 inches on the sides of the home. Additionally this System can also be used on an existing shingled home as an option to replacing shingles. In most instances the System can be installed right over your existing shingles with no associated tear off of the existing shingles. The light weight of the installed System (about 1 pound per square foot) adds an insignificant amount of weight compared to another layer of shingles. This system adds at least 2 inches of EPS (Expanded Poly Styrene or "Beadboard") over your existing metal or shingled roof. This insulation is held in place by an aluminum roof edge angle that is .040 inches thick. The angle extends over the insulation by 2 inches and down from the top of the added insulation 4 inches. The support angle is fastened to the side of the home with 1.5 inch lag screws every 2 feet. This method of attachment puts no new holes through your existing roof, avoiding the problems associated with fastening through your existing roof. The Roof panels are then fastened to the support angle with a 3/4 inch screw with a rubber washer. The panels are 13 inches wide, with a net coverage of 12 inches and are produced using a .024 thick aluminum coil stock with a baked enamel finish. Each side of the roof panels has a raised rib which is designed to overlap the adjacent panels providing for a leak free roof installation. This roof panel has been approved as meeting the Energy Star requirements for roofing products. Roof panels are available either pre-arched or flat in lengths up to 35 foot (Arched panels can not be made this long, 25 foot max on arched) in white only. Most other associated installation pieces are 10 or 12 foot long. Key Benefits
We can usually install this system on your single wide home in less than one day. Larger homes with additions or doublewides may take additional time. 99% of jobs are completed within 1 day of starting the project. We have been installing this system in Michigan since 1982 with well over 500 satisfied customers. We can also sell the parts package alone if you want to install the system yourself, however the leak free warranty will not apply as the installers will be responsible to make the roof water tight. |
